I'm on a hunt for a set of Gourd Lamps for our new living room.

I'd love to have something like this...but over $600 for a pair of lamps is definitely not in our budget right now!

Have you seen any fabulous luxe for less lamps recently?

Eyelet is light, fun, and flirty, and one of my favorite fabrics to wear in the spring and summer.  I have a little white eyelet dress from J.Crew that I have worn many times, and it is still a go to summer staple of mine.

While white is definitely the most classic way to wear this style, I'm loving all the different colors of eyelet that I have seen recently...in particular I have seen a lot of two of my favorite colors...orange and navy!

Here are a few navy and orange eyelet items that I have my eye on...truth be told I already splurged on the Old Navy eyelet dress this weekend, but this navy skirt is really tempting me...all for $100 or less!

And whenever I wear navy or orange, I love to elevate the look with a flash of turquoise...

Orange, navy, and turquoise is truly one of my favorite color combinations! 

Here are a few turquoise accessories that I think would look great with any of the styles above...ok so some of these items are not so luxe for less, but I thought I would throw a few splurges in the mix for fun!

Check out these easy and chic seahorse shorts and matching tank from Old Navy...don't they rival much more expensive lines of sleepwear?  And each item is $8.50 or less!  I just picked up a pair for spring this past weekend and they had plenty to choose from in the store...now all I need  is to find a few more hours a day to sleep!

This Christmas my husband and I offered to make Beef Bourguignon for my family because 1) it's delicious and 2) we thought my mother deserved a break after years of preparing holiday meals alone!

My parents don't have a cast iron dutch oven so we planned to bring our Le Creuset pot with us to cook the meal...at $305 this is definitely a luxe pot, but it will last you a lifetime.  Here is the "Cadillac of Cast Iron"...

Well it was a great plan until we got half way to my parents' house and realized that we had a week's supply of diapers for a two day trip, but we had left the Le Creuset pot at home!  We certainly were not going to go out and pick up a $300 Le Creuset pot from the local hardware store which seemed like our only option, until we thought to check out Kohls!  This is where we found the Food Network Cast Iron Dutch Iron for $89.99!  More than a 1/3 less than our beloved Le Creuset...

I must admit none of us could tell the difference when it came to tasting the Beef Bourguignon.  The flavors were incredibly rich as always, luxe for less pot and all! 

If your kitchen is in need of a dutch oven and you can't stomach spending more than $100 on your cookware, than I say go for the Food Network line of cast iron. 

And if this post has made you hungry for some delicious beef stew, I recommend Ina Garten's recipe for Bourguignon.  We make it with Guigal Cotes du Rhone...and it always comes out fantastic.  And of course we buy two bottles so we have one to drink with our meal!  At $12.99 this is a medium bodied French red that is easy to drink with food or on its own.  Here is an article on the success of Guigal Cotes du Rhone and why it is such a great bargain if you are interested in reading more about this tasty red!

The warm weather is here which means a lot more time outside, and a lot more walking! 

I have the Sam Edelman Gigi sandals in orange and they are one of my favorite summer staples.  These sandals are a nice change of pace from my go to Jack Rogers, and they look great with dresses, jeans, and shorts. 

I was thinking of picking up a metallic pair this spring until I spotted the less expensive version from the Loft...

Bring Mexico to you!  I must admit with spring break come and gone I have been dreaming of escaping to a warm beach somewhere, but unfortunately a trip to the beach  is not in my future this spring!

As we settle in to our new home I have been "toying" around with the idea of how to incorporate my daughter's play space into our living space.  It seems like most toy storage options are bulky and come in 4 color choices: pink, blue, yellow, and red!  But if you are limited on space and need to incorporate your child's toys into your living room, what are your options? 

I just found these upholstered storage benches from Target and I think they would make a great option for hiding your children's toys in your living room.  We just may be purchasing the grey chevron bench for our family room soon!
