After just posting about Old Navy's new simple and chic sequin canvas bags, I can't believe that I am back again...completely enamored with yet another canvas bag at Old Navy! I promise this is the last post I do on Old Navy OR canvas bags this week, but this was just too good to resist! Check out Old Navy's newest bag for spring, the Women's Canvas Rope-Trim Beach Tote! At only $16.50, I may just have to splurge on this bag in two colors! I also really like the orange... It really is so similar to this 44 Knots bag that I had my eye on last summer, but that at $150 for a simple cloth tote was a little out of my league! Happy Shopping!
One of my favorite catalogs which I look forward to every season is Serena and Lily! Serena and Lily specializes in colorful luxe fabrics and unique Asian and Middle Eastern inspired furniture and home accessories. Like so many of the pieces in Serena and Lily's beautiful collection, I have had my eye on this bamboo lacquered nightstand for some time... If like me you are in the market for an accent bamboo table or bookshelf for your living room, bedroom, or even a Nursery, why not try this Bamboo Bookshelf from Target instead? At $99 this bamboo shelving unit is a fraction of the price! All you need is a can of spray paint in your color of choice, and you will up the luxe factor on this bookshelf immediately!
I think it would look great in an entry way in red or black and gold, or wonderful in a Nursery in white! A few years ago my husband and I were lucky enough to take a trip to Paris for a friend's wedding, and I remember on our trip being completely blown away by the fashion, and totally enamored with the simple but chic canvas and sequin bags that I saw so many Parisian women toting around in every color imaginable. I soon found out that the chic French version of the States' L.L. Bean Boat and Tote was by French Designer Vanessa Bruno. Here's a peek.... LUXE TOTE: Vanessa Bruno, $200-$300 Well Old Navy must have been inspired by these chic Parisian bags too, because check out their recent addition to their accessories line... What a similar look, for a fraction of the price! And if are intrigued by this sequin look too, but would like a bag that is priced more mid range, why not try this beautiful tote by MZ Wallace? I just may have splurged on this for myself over the holidays! Happy Shopping! Hello Readers! Sorry for the long break...this is my busiest time of year at work, but luckily there is an end in sight! I am coming up on the tail end of a very busy month, and I hope to have more time for LL4L soon! In the meantime I am lucky to have my fabulous friends help me continue to live a luxe life for less! Today I am presenting a new edition of "4 Items Under $50 and 1 Splurge Wish List!" Today's host, Alex, is one of my closest friends, who also happens to have fabulous taste, and always seems to find great bargains! Alex and I met 7 years ago when we started work at the same school on the same day. At the time our boss prepared both of us for our first introduction, and warned us that, "you two are VERY DIFFERENT!" My boss's warning scared me...how different could I be from Alex? Well it turns out that Alex and I could not have more in common, and we ended up going shopping the first day we met at the J. McLaughlin Outlet nearby! 7 years later, we still laugh that anyone could think that we were that different...we have so much in common from our favorite wine to our obsession with vintage Lilly shifts! Here is Alex's Wish List with 4 Items Under $50, and of course 1 Splurge... Kate Spade Gum Drop Studs, $38 Alex: I've been admiring these earrings in pink for a few weeks now... LL4L Note: I have these in clear and I love them! Great purchase. :) Lands End No Iron Pinpoint Cotton Shirt, $44.50 $49.50 with Monogram Alex: My favorite white shirt. I have one with a monogram on the cuff and all it ever needs is a quick touch-up with the steamer. Gap Red Velvet City Flat, $28.99 Alex: How great are these? I can't believe I didn't find these before the holidays. They also come in navy- get them both! Old Navy Skinny Jeans, $29.50 Alex: I don't think skinny jeans work for my body-type but they look great on my cyber-bod! And get ready to start drooling...the Splurge! H. Stern DVF Sutra Bracelet, $9,800 Alex: I love this bracelet. My husband gave me the most amazing chunky gold link bracelet for Christmas a few years back. Its extra special because it belonged to his grandmother. I wear it almost every day and it really adds the final touch that polishes off any outfit. Thank you Alex for your help with today's post and for choosing such lovely Luxe for Less Items and One Splurge! I think these skinny jeans will be in my Old Navy cyber cart very soon!
Today I am featuring one of my favorite stores in NYC for kitchen supplies... Fish's Eddy! Fish's Eddy began in 1985, and for the past 25 years they have stuck to one simple vision: create "commercial quality dish and glassware with plenty of other things to make people smile." Whether you are stocking your own kitchen, helping a friend start their own culinary path, or just need a unique and attractive gift, Fish's Eddy is a great place to go for affordable and unique kitchenware! Here are just a few of my favorite items... Have a friend that lives across the river? What a fun hostess gift! I love this Polka Dot pattern. It is so bright and cheery! Check out the trays, plates, and glassware too...they offer a whole set of dinnerware in this colorful pattern! Wouldn't this make a lovely bridal shower gift? This will definitely set your powder room apart from the rest... Perfect for your friends who are proud New Yorkers! If you live in the NYC area you can visit their Manhattan store at:
889 Broadway at 19th Street New York, NY 10003 You can also shop from their extensive stock of dining, glass, and serving ware on their website. Happy Shopping! Happy New Year! 2010 will always hold many wonderful memories for me, including the beginning of this blog! But along with all the good times, this year has also presented me with a few somber and life changing moments, and I appreciate your patience as I have taken some personal time to regroup from a few of life's unexpected hurdles. My hope is to refocus on this blog in 2011, and continue to connect with you, my readers, on interesting and chic ways to live and look better for less! To start the year off, I am sharing my favorite calendar for 2011: the Kate Spade Small Desk Calendar! This calendar was originally $20, but is now on sale at Papyrus for only $10!
You know you need to stay organized for the New Year, so why not do it in style? And once again, thank you for your loyalty, readership, and support. This still new blog would be nothing without you. In the coming weeks I hope to introduce a few new features to the blog, and as always, I welcome your comments and would love to hear what you would like to see more of here! Happy 2011! XOXO, Jenn |
