Thank you to everyone who went over to check out Uncommon Goods and entered the giveaway!  I used random.org to select the winner and it is...
lucky number 5 - Audra!

Audra please send me your contact information.  Looks like you have some colorful painted sneakers in your future!  I hope you have a white pair to paint! :)

And while we are on the subject of gift giving, I just love these clever little cards I discovered on Etsy...they capture what was special about the year for your friends who are celebrating weddings and babies.  Of course my favorite is The Year You Were Born Card New York 2011...
Isn't this a great memento to save for when your child gets older?  I definitely will be ordering one for our baby girl!

Stay tuned tomorrow for a Luxe for Less Easter post!

Don't you love it when you stumble upon a new blog?  Last night I came across Cupcakes For Breakfast and loved what I saw!  First of all, I do eat cupcakes for breakfast - I actually did right before we went to the hospital on the day my precious little girl was born!  Plus I love all the other fun tips and treats the author, Nikki Rappaport, shares in her blog.  I especially loved these striped and sparkly canvas duffles that she had selected last week in a post on the beauty of the color banana!

Check it out...

And there are other gorgeous color combinations!
Do you have any weekend trips planned this spring?  This is such a fun update on the classic canvas duffel...and it's less than $100!

Also if you have not entered my Uncommon Goods Giveaway yet please check it out and enter to win a $50 gift certificate!  I'm announcing a winner tomorrow!
Wouldn't you love to take home something lovely and unique like this Forget Me Not ring?

Yesterday I posted about these porcelain tortoise and hare banks from Uncommon Goods that in my opinion would make a wonderful baby shower gift, and at $22-24 they are also a great deal!  Uncommon Goods is a wonderful source for gifts for everyone in the family and a very unique source for those expecting a little one on the way.  For more of their baby specific gifts, please click here.  And if you have an older child on your list to shop for, they have gifts for a variety of ages too.

Uncommon Goods
is a great source for interesting and affordable items to fill your home, find unique baby gifts, and never seen before surprises for family and friends.

I recently received the People Towels and Repurposed Layered Wood Frame from Uncommon Goods to give a try in our new home.  Both of these products are attractive, functional, and sustainable.  I am all for beautiful things and high quality design, and when these things can be green and sustainable too then I'm even happier!

I have to admit that I'm a repeat offender of the "paper towel club."  I use way too many of them and this has become both a financial and an environmental problem in our household!  Since getting these People Towels I have used them for everything from wiping down counters, drying my hands, and wiping out baby bottles.  These reusable towels are a great gift for yourself or any friend who has a paper towel problem like I used to!

I was also lucky enough to receive this beautiful and sustainable frame that is made from re-purposed wood...
On the package of the frame it says, "It was the barn for the square dance on Saturday night / It was the front porch to rock on / The only thing worse than tearing  down an old building is not re-using the wood that created its beauty."  Can you think of a place that you have loved that had to be torn down or demolished?  I sure can...and I love the idea of the wood that housed so many lives and special moments being repurposed as a way to save those moments, our memories, in time.

I decided to use this old wood frame to showcase a new beginning in my life - the walk down the aisle at our rehearsal, the day before our wedding.  Here it is on my bedside table.

And close up...
Isn't it pretty?!

Today I am thrilled to announce Living Luxe for Less's first giveaway, sponsored by
KB Wales!  A few weeks ago one of my good friends met Kimberly Bevan, the founder of KB Wales, and she was immediately attracted to Kimberly's colorful and unique earrings.

Kimberly Bevan, the founder of KB Wales, lives in New York City, and she has an entire line of different colored silk knot earrings which she sells on her website KB Wales.
These earrings will complete any preppy or classic look you have pulled together for the fall, and at $22 a pair, I believe these earrings are not only lovely, but they are also affordable!

Here is a photo of one of Kimberly's designs...

Don't you just love these beautiful silk knot earrings?  Usually these colorful silk accessories are just for gentlemen, but now men aren't the only ones who get to have all the fun with silk knots!

While speaking with Kimberly about KB Wales, I asked her to tell me about the inspiration behind her company, and here is what she had to say...

"I have always loved the way silk knot cufflinks add a colorful splash to formal shirts. Growing up, these cufflinks were staples in my father and brother’s wardrobes, but I often wished I had more occasions to which I could wear these fun accessories. This was when I created my first pair of handmade Silk Knot earrings. They are the size of large pearls and with endless colors to choose from, they make the perfect accessory to polish off any look.  I am constantly adding more colors to the collection and I welcome requests for new and additional colors. "

I agree that these fun and classic silk knot earrings are a fun and fresh accessory for a variety of outfits!  I believe that the blue and white pair would look great with my casual summer uniform, I.E., a Roberta Roller Rabbit Tunic, white jeans, and my gold Jack Rogers!  While the gold and black pair is slightly more formal, and would be a great accessory for your very own LBD!
