It's that time of year again...the red carpet, the stars, and of course the movies! 

How are you gearing up to get ready for the Academy Awards this weekend?  We will be cozying up at home with our baby, but if there are any films you want to see before the big show on Sunday, you should check out AMC Theater's Best Picture Showcase!  I read about this Oscar movie marathon over at one of my favorite blogs: Kelly Market.  For $30 you can buy a 4 film movie pass for Saturday, and for $40 a five day film pass for Sunday.  This also includes a $5 voucher for concessions.  Given how much it costs to go to the movies, I think this is a great deal! 

And if the show inspires you to pick up a copy of The Help and read the book that the film was based on, you can find a hard copy of this best seller at Overstock for $9.60.

Now on to the important thing...the snacks!

Freshly popped popcorn, seasoned with a little olive oil, salt and pepper.  So simple and so good.

Six Point Bengali Tiger.  It's a locally brewed IPA that is not too bitter, and has nice citrus notes to balance out it's flavor.  And who doesn't love a fancy beer in a can?!

One of things that got me through my pregnancy in good spirits was my daily dose of yoga.  If only I was as good at practicing daily now that I have an infant!  Unfortunately with a baby it is nearly impossible to find time to exercise.

Enter Mother and Child yoga!  It's the perfect way to tone up and also spend some quality time with your child.

Reading this month's Self Magazine I was surprised to learn that the luxury denim company, Rock and Republic, now has a lower priced line for Kohl's. 

Luxe jeans for less at Kohls?!  Who knew!

My first pair of Rock and Republic jeans were white and a straight fit, and they fit like a glove!  I got them on sale at Bloomingdales and I wore them the whole summer long.  They were so comfortable, and very slimming.

I have not tried any of the pieces from this line yet, but if any of these pieces fit like their original line of denim, than this special lower priced line for Kohls is going to be a winner!

I can't tell you how excited I was when I got the email Friday night that Diane Von Furstenburg will be doing a line for Gap Kids!  Oh how my definition of an exciting Friday night has changed post baby!

I really am going to have to hold myself back from buying my 6 month old daughter one of everything in every size so that she can be rocking DVF for years to come!

This is one partnership I am SUPER excited about...and thrilled that at least one girl in this house will be able to sport DVF...although does this mean that I need to splurge on a wrap dress for myself so that we can wear it together?!  Oh well...a girl can dream!  At least my baby girl gets to be the designer diva in this family!

Yesterday in a rush to leave our apartment I clumsily knocked over the tray where I keep my keys by the door and it broke to pieces as soon as it hit the floor.  After one too many mornings of being late for work because I could not find my keys in a total fluster, I decided it would make my life much easier to create a little key tray by our door.  So now I'm in the market for a new tray for my keys...

While not a smoker, I love the rich look of the Hermes ashtrays and I think they would be such a beautiful touch in any living room or bar area to spruce things up and add a luxurious touch to the room.  Unfortunately at $650, this cute porcelain plate is way too rich for my blood!  And let's be honest, if I am spending $650 at Hermes, I would like to be leaving the store with a little orange box and a new bangle on my wrist!

In just a few short weeks we are finally making the big move out of the city into the suburbs.  I'm feeling torn right now between not wanting to leave our family and friends in NYC, but we are really in need of more space for our family to move around and grow. 

Luckily after we move we will still be less than a 30 minute drive from the city, and one exciting perk to our move is that I will be living across the street from Target!

Now that we are finally going to have enough space to set up a nursery for our baby girl (which you will hear more about in the weeks to come) I thought I would check out Target's website and see what they have in stock for the little ones...

And if you can splurge and you still don't have a glider for your nursery, I highly recommend this glider/ottoman set.  We purchased it in pink recently and it looks even better in person!  It is very comfortable, and I was amazed at the the quality you get for this relatively low price.  Here is the glider in Sage green, but it also comes in blue, yellow, and pink.

The buzz is out about everyone's most beloved shelter mag Domino...Conde Nast has decided to release a special edition of Domino Magazine for spring!  It will only be sold at newsstands, and it will be released on April 17.

I cannot WAIT!  Conde while you are working on new Domino material can't you pretty please just bring it back to us for good???

As promised yesterday I'm continuing the red, white, and blue theme in honor of this year's superbowl champs, the NY Giants, and today I'm featuring a few Luxe for Less home items that I have my eye on...

I love how this bookcase from target has both drawer storage and shelves.  I think it would be a chic and space saving addition to a casual home office.

I have always been a fan of the simple design of the Jenny Lind crib, but I also love these coordinating Jenny Lind nursery items from Target.  I would put this bookcase in my own bedroom, and you cannot beat $99 for a changing table!  I wish I had seen this changing table when I was pregnant last summer.

Once you have children simple things like coffee tables can quickly become a serious living hazard.  A soft large ottoman is a much more friendly flat top space for the living room than a hard top coffee table...this one might be calling my name when we move this month!

I have been looking for some letter art for my baby girl's new nursery and I think these customized letter posters from Etsy are just adorable!  And at less than $20 they could not be more reasonable!

This Red Tufted Seater from Land of Nod is perfect if you need some extra comfy but casual and spill proof seating in your playroom or living room...and it's only $39!

And if I were decorating a guest room right now this might be the very set of twin beds I would invest in...Land of Nod has a gorgeous collection of upholstered beds that come in a variety of fabrics in Twin or Full.  This is a splurge, but for such an attractive upholstered bed I would say it is is a bargain!
